My friends at the Famous Smoke Shop, in Pennsylvania, sent me a few of their MONTECRISTO RELENTLESS ROBUSTO cigars that were specifically made for their shop. I don’t smoke cigars, but my husband and his co-workers do when they get together. I knew that they were due for a get together soon, so this would be a perfect opportunity! The following review is done by my husband Todd, this his own honest review of these cigars..
I want to start by saying that I am not a “cigar aficionado”. I won’t tell you about all of the subtle flavors I taste or whether or not this makes the best smoke rings. What I can give you, is a real world perspective of how this cigar tastes, lights, burns and smokes.
I will admit, at first sight, the gaudy red and yellow label really jumped out at me and, honestly, I wondered if I was on the hook to smoke some bad cigars. Not the case!
Let’s start with the cut and light. Sometimes you’ll cut the cigar and, whether the cigar is dry, or just not wrapped well, the end unravels. This was a smooth cut and, throughout the smoke, there were never any issues. It lit nicely and evenly and burned the same.
As for the taste, it was a rich and deep flavor that lingered. In fact, I shared these with my co-workers and, the next day, they told me how they could still taste the cigar on their tongue and lips. I would agree, sometimes you can brush it away but not the case here.
Lastly, the smoke. This was a great cigar that burned nicely and at an average speed. It never got too hot, even when you were finishing up, and it was never overpowering.
I shared these cigars with several of my co-workers, who enjoy mild cigars, and it was unanimous, these are really nice cigars.
I would highly recommend these cigars to anyone who is looking for an affordable cigar that is smooth and flavorful. – Todd
